St Mary's Reservoir - Lower Campground

June 23, 2020 We went to Cardston and stayed at Barrett and Kari's place for one night.  We had fun with them and their kids.  Bolt had some minor surgery at the vet's the next morning.  After we picked Bolt up, we headed out to St. Mary's Reservoir.  There are three campgrounds there.  We went to the lower one and got a nice spot with a great view of the spillway from the dam - see photo above on right.  We stayed for two nights before heading home to Calgary.  The campground was not very full, so it was nice and quiet, except for the noise of the water in the spillway.  The area was great for fishing and floating in rafts etc.  We did a bit of walking around and looking at the area, a lot of time sitting in the sun and reading.  There were a lot of mosquitoes and of course I am an all you can eat buffet for them.  I did not get the OFF out soon enough and I am paying the price.  On Thursday we drove to the other two campground to check them out.  The upper campground is small, a few trees and a boat launch.  Walley's beach is a larger campground, no trees but a nice sandy beach in the day use area.

2004 National Tropical Motorhome

We were looking to buy another motor-home when our mission was over, May 26, 2020.  We wanted to travel Alberta, BC and go to the United States - Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Oregon and Washington.

February 2020 we were down in Lethbridge, Alberta for a Zone Conference for the Canada Calgary Mission.  After Mike (Elder Swendsen) did his vehicle/safety training we headed out to our hotel.  We passed an RV lot and thought that we should stop in after checking in at our hotel and changing our clothes.  We went back to Skyline Travel to take a look at what they had.  We were "just looking.  We wanted to see what was out there - sizes, options and of course prices.  So much for "just looking" - we bought a 2004 National Tropical.  It is 36 1/2 feet long and is very roomy.  It has three slides: 1 in the bedroom and 2 in the main living area which makes it very big inside.  The motor-home needed a few things done so we left it at the dealers for a couple of months.  We now have it home and have made a few changes and additions.  We have loaded it up with our stuff.

WE ARE READY TO ROLL!

Pandemic hits and we have to stay home.  Hopefully we will be able to travel in Alberta by June!
